    Working out with a personal trainer can be a private matter especially if you need to lose weight. There are many things to look for when choosing a personal trainer. One of the most important considerations often overlooked regarding in-home personal training is gender. 

    Women often have different goals and may need to train differently than men. Most women exercise to trim and tone, not “bulk up.” Men sometimes overlook this and train their clients as they would themselves. This isn’t what most women want.

     

    There are many other reasons for choosing a female in-home personal trainer:

    • Having a female trainer can provide you with a higher "comfort level", especially in the privacy of your own home.  There's no need to worry about a strange male being alone with you at home.
    • Women are sometimes self-conscious, but tend not to worry about how they look, feel, etc. when around other women.
    • Women's natural instinct is to nurture, help, and motivate, therefore I can provide motivation and understanding easier.
    • Female trainers experience the same natural body cycles and stressors as their clients, therefore I understand if you have an "off" day and can sympathize, as well as keep you on track with tips and strategies.

     

    I will design fun workouts to your likes and dislikes to help you reach your fitness goals.  I incorporate a variety of techniques into each of your workouts to ensure you reach your goals.  Some of the techniques include:

    • Resistance Training
    • Heart Rate/Cardio Training
    • Core Training
    • Stability Training
    • Flexibility Training
    • Functional Training

    Each session will be different and fresh in order to keep you challenged and motivated.  To stay fully informed on current exercise methods, I regularly take continuing education classes so that I have new exercise ideas for you on a regular basis.

    I will design different workouts for you on a session-by-session basis. One of the biggest reasons women quit working out is boredom. I will change your workout each session to keep workouts exciting and energizing. As a woman, I also understand that we all have good and bad days. I will tailor your workout to your body to make your workout experience enjoyable as well as effective.

    I believe that eating healthy is a lifestyle change.  If your goal is to lose weight and keep it off, you'll only reach your goal by understanding math.  That’s right, math.  Losing weight is all about numbers.  Burn more calories than you consume and you’ll lose weight.  I will never recommend a supplement to help you lose weight (supplements are not regulated by the FDA, therefore take caution when taking vitamins or minerals for that “quick fix”, especially when recommended by a personal trainer). Instead I will give you guidelines and recommend healthy eating habits that will eventually become a lifestyle change.

    If you're willing to work and have fun--You Will Get Results.  Results come from many internal factors as well as external.  If you eat healthy (remember the math game) and exercise on a continual basis as a lifestyle, you will get results.  I’ll be here to support you as long as you need me.  If you're already fit, great!  I'll help you reach your goal whether it means increased energy, a healthy heart, your first 5K, or just to trim and tone.  If you're willing to work, I'll help you get the results you're after and teach you to maintain them for a lifetime.

    My number one priority is to help to improve the physical, mental, and emotional state of every individual client that I work with.
