Training Approach

I teach weight control, not temporary weight loss. If you are like most people, you may have bought into the diet craze at some point in your life only to be frustrated with the "Rebound Effect". Weight Loss diets most often fail due to nutritional inadequacies and failure to focus on better eating habits. I will teach you proper eating techniques and exercises that will propel you to a healthier and leaner body. Imagine that you can almost eat what you want and still get the desired results you are looking for.

Under my supervision, you will learn efficient exercises and how to eat right amount of nutrients that will keep you from overeating and get the results you are looking for. Together we will create a fitness blueprint for you from beginning to end.

Your first few sessions will consist of assessments that will tell which direction I need to go with your fitness program. Unlike most programs, I focus on your safety first. Ken Karnack

My relationship with fitness started in 1996, at Gold's Gym in south Pittsburgh. I was a 5' 10", 138 lb, shy, skinny kid with no muscle tone. I could not bench 100 lbs, or even do one good pull-up. That day I decided to join a gym, scared to death that I would be made fun of for being so small and weak. I signed up and received my first orientation, and I knew my life was about to change forever. His name was Allen, and being so unfamiliar with fitness and a healthy lifestyle, I asked many questions. He took time to explain everything to me in great detail.

A few days later it was my turn to workout on my own and I asked this guy if I could work out with him on the Bench Press. He must have been around 6' 4" and 250lbs. He looked at me kind a funny and then said, "Sure as long as you help me change the weights." So that is just what I did. My back was sore for days, you see. That man was an interior lineman for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Jim Sweeny and he was lifting over 500lbs. Needless to say I was very intimidated even approaching him. So I added my little 10 lbs on each side and away I went still replacing his weights in between sets. When it was all said and done, he told me to keep at kid.

WOW! What an experience that was for me, and I never looked back. Now I am asking you to step out of your comfort zone and ask for help.
